Patterson Diesel is a class 4, 5, 7, M.O.T. Testing Centre
Our testing centre is available to commercial operators and the general public throughout Fife and can test cars and light commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes.
For vehicles over 3 years old you MUST take your car or vehicle to an MOT testing centre for an annual safety check, the Ministry of Transport Test, commonly known as the M.O.T. Test. The purpose of the M.O.T. test is to ensure the vehicle meets minimum safety levels required by law.
Fully Authorised By VOSA
Our fully qualified M.O.T. testing staff are authorised by the Government body called VOSA (Vehicle and Operator Services Agency) to inspect and undertake a comprehensive series of checks around the vehicle, including the interior, exterior, under the bonnet and under the vehicle.

The result of each check is recorded. If the vehicle passes its M.O.T., then a VT20 ‘pass’ certificate is issued. If the vehicle fails to meet the required standard a VT30 ‘failure’ document is issued. Items that are drawn to your attention as ‘advisory’ items.
